St. Charles Cemetery

Since 1868, St. Charles Cemetery has stood on the banks of the Assiniboine River. St. Charles Parish provides perpetual care for the cemetery. The cemetery has a peaceful surrounding for the final resting place of a loved one and for family and friends to visit. It is well maintained with mature trees and many colourful flowers in the summer. A spiritual gathering place, behind the church, that comes alive on the last Sunday of June, where the parishes celebrated Mass in the cemetery followed by a picnic on the banks of the Assiniboine River.

Visitors will often hear the church bells ringing to mark special occasions and the call to prayer daily at noon.

Plots and Niche are available in the cemetery. St. Charles Cemetery has two Columbarium’s. The first, is know as the “Apostles Columbarium”. It has four sides, each facing a different direction and each side named after one of the Four Gospel Writers – Mark, Luke, John, and Mathew. The second is the “Holy Spirit Columbarium” and one side faces South (river) and the other side faces North.
