St. James Assiniboia

Catholic Women’s League

Mission Statement

The Catholic Women's League of Canada calls its members to grow in faith, and to witness to the love of God through ministry and service.

Our Core Values

FAITH – following Catholic teaching

SERVICE – local, national and international

SOCIAL JUSTICE – actively involved in society

The Catholic Women’s League of Canada is the largest organized women's association in Canada with a very rich culture and very strong roots. These are exciting times - the CWL has done strategic planning to ensure our councils stay strong and relevant in the future.

The St. James Assiniboia Council is unique because it includes four parishes - St. Paul the Apostle, St. John XXIII, St. Anne's and St. Charles. These parishes came together to form one council on September 10, 1986. Today we have over 150 members.

We hold meetings from September to May on the 4th Tuesday of the month with meetings held at St. Charles Parish. Topics for this year will include recycling, homelessness, human trafficking, estate preparation and action on resolutions.
